Vintage Mountain Landscape Oil Painting

Vintage oil painting: an alpine scene of a cottage set against a mountain backdrop, worked in bold greens against muted greys with textured brushwork building the rugged ground. Signed Chaniel.

Alpine subjects reward the kind of loaded, physical paint handling on show here. The contrast between the saturated greens of the lower slopes and the cool grey of the rock is what gives the picture its altitude.
