Antique vellum-bound folio - Jacobi Pignatelli, 'Consultationes Canonicae', Tomus Quartus (Volume 4), printed at Lyon (Lugduni) by Gabriel & Samuel de Tournes, 1700 (M.DCC). A Latin canon-law reference work set in double-column text, in its original limp-vellum binding with hand-inked spine title ('Pignatt. Consultatio. Canonicas, 4 et 5') and an old paper library label, 'Biblioteca Marco Abad'. The engraved title page bears the de Tournes printer's device (salamander in flames flanked by satyrs). CONDITION - age-appropriate: vellum cover cockled, stained and edge-worn with some lifting; text-block toned and foxed with occasional spotting and a few damp marks; binding sound and reasonably tight. NOTE - this is a single volume (Tomus Quartus) of what was a ten-tome set; the spine label reads '4 et 5', so it may contain Tome 5 bound in as well - the buyer should confirm. Exact collation, dimensions and weight to be confirmed.
