A decorative lot: a grey-painted sectioned wooden tray of seed-tray form, holding a collection of small aged terracotta garden pots with chalky, weathered surfaces. Sold together as one group, tray and pots.
Old French terracotta develops a chalky white bloom that new pots simply do not have, and the sectioned tray turns a loose collection into a single composition. Set it on a potting bench, a kitchen island, or an entry console with a few clippings in the pots and it does more work than its price suggests.
