Antique gilt-brass Rococo shell-and-scroll ornament - a horizontal cast mount built around a central oval cabochon framed by gadrooning, with bold C-scrolls, acanthus and shell forms. Likely a furniture or frame mount. Reverse is a dark patinated leaf-shaped backing with a fixing tab. CONDITION - good decorative condition; gilding with rubbing and verdigris, darkened reverse. NOTE - Rococo-style attribution by style.
