Antique French Comtoise Clock Face with Repousse Brass Crest (Unsigned)

Original 19th-century French Comtoise clock face with its pierced repousse gilt-brass crest and ornamental surround. Plain white enamel dial with bold black Roman numerals. The crest carries the typical radiant sunburst mask above a flower basket flanked by acanthus scrolls, set within a beaded and rope-bordered gilt surround with floret corners.

The unsigned dials are the most graphic of the group. Without a maker's script across the enamel, the numerals and the gilt do all the work, which makes this one the easiest to pair with contemporary furniture.
